Dr. Niranjan CA

Dr. Niranjan C. A. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering & Management (IEM) at M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), Bengaluru, and also contributes to departmental placement coordination. He has over five years of experience in teaching, research, and academic coordination.

His research interests focus on lightweight materials, magnesium-based alloys and composites, sustainable materials, and biodegradable implant materials, particularly for aerospace and biomedical applications. His expertise includes materials development and characterization, mechanical and corrosion performance evaluation, Design of Experiments (DOE), fatigue/stress analysis, and quality assurance. He also has hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing and machining processes such as Abrasive Water Jet Machining (AWJM) and Wire EDM.

Currently, his research includes the development of Mg-based biodegradable alloys using powder metallurgy, with emphasis on alloy systems such as Mg–Ca–Nb–Zn and Mg–Ti–Nb–Zn. He is also actively involved in curriculum development, student mentoring, industry interaction, placement activities, and research project development.
