Dr. Asha M Nair

Dr. Asha M Nair is a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering at M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), Bengaluru. She holds a Ph.D from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru and an M.Tech from Regional Engineering College, Calicut (present NITC). She is a passionate researcher and consultant with expertise in pavement geotechnics, having worked extensively on the use of geosynthetics in pavements and material characterisation for infrastructure applications. Dr. Asha is currently guiding four PhD scholars and has multiple SCI-indexed and Scopus-indexed publications to her credit. She is proficient in software tools including Geostudio, KenPAVE, GeoPIV, and FLAC 3D. Her key research areas include ground improvement through bioremediation of soils, image analysis for behaviour of driven piles, energy harvesting from pavements, and sustainable ground improvement techniques. She is an Associate Member of ASCE and a Life Member of IGS. Dr. Asha has received several honours including gold medals for academic excellence in B.Tech, MHRD scholarships for both her M.Tech and PhD studies, and a Best Paper Award at the Indian Institute of Science. She has also guided a project that won the KSCST Best Student Project award for the state in 2024.
