Dr. G. M. Madhu

Dr. G. M. Madhu is the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Vice Principal of M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT). His research interests encompass nanomaterial synthesis and applications, membrane separation processes, water purification technologies, combustion synthesis, and nanopolymer composites.

Dr. Madhu has successfully completed six major externally funded research projects sponsored by organizations such as the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), the Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI], and the Department of Science and Technology (DST). Under his supervision, ten scholars have been awarded Ph.D. degrees, while two students have completed their M.Sc. (Engineering). He is currently guiding three Ph.D. research scholars. He has also delivered numerous invited lectures at national and international conferences.

In addition to his academic and research contributions, Dr. Madhu serves as the Chairman of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), Bangalore Chapter. He is a life member of several professional bodies, including the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), the Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI), the Indian Desalination Association (InDA), and the International Association of Engineers (IAENG).

Dr. Madhu has organized more than 20 workshops on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and accreditation and is a recognized Master Trainer for NBA Accreditation. As part of the AICTE-funded Margadarshan Project, he has mentored 11 institutions in achieving NBA Accreditation, contributing significantly to the enhancement of engineering education quality and institutional excellence.
