Dr. Samrat K

Dr. Samrat K. is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, with 14 years of experience in teaching and research. His research expertise includes Nanobiotechnology, Biomedical Nanomaterials, Nanomedicine, and Microbial Technology, with an emphasis on the synthesis, characterization, and biomedical evaluation of nanomaterials for cancer therapy, wound healing, and infection control and management.

He has published 46 research papers that are cited 739 times (h-index-16; i10-index-22). He has three published Indian Patent Applications. These outcomes show the potential to translate research into intellectual property and technology-oriented outcomes.

He has served as the Principal Investigator of the project “Investigation of Anticancer Potential of Nanosulphur Against Ovarian Cancer”, funded under the RIT Seed Fund, with a grant-in-aid of ₹5 lakh for the period 2023–2025. The project aimed to investigate nanosulphur as a potential nanomaterial-based therapeutic agent for ovarian cancer and provided valuable experience in conducting funded research in the field of cancer-focused nanobiomedicine. He currently supervises two doctoral students working in the areas of nanobiotechnology and biomedical nanomaterials.
