Monika Prakash

Dr Monika P is working as an Assistant Professor in Dept of Biotechnology, Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore. She completed her PhD in Biotechnology from VTU. She completed her BE and MTech (Second Topper) in Biotechnology from Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore. She has 10 years of Teaching experience and 9 years of Research experience. She has published 30 papers in peer reviewed international journals and has 3 book chapters. She is a lifetime member of several Professional Organizations such as Institute of Engineers, International Association of Engineers, Institute for Engineering Research and Publication & Indian Science Congress Association. She is a recipient of VGST and 3 RIT SEED fund project grants. She is a certified Peer Reviewer in Publons, Web of Science and several high impact factor journals and has reviewed manuscripts. She has been honoured with “Young Women Researcher Award” (International level), “Best Researcher Award” (International level), ‘Best Technical Project Award’ (Government of Karnataka), Best UG Project Awards (Guide)(5 times) and Best Paper Presentation Award (Guide) at International Conference. She is actively involved in research and her major focus is to understand the wound biology in patient chronic wounds, understanding the role of Phytocompounds and develop novel therapeutics (nano-drug delivery systems) for chronic wound healing and other diseases such as ulcerative colitis and cancer.
